Warren County Memorial Library provides homebound delivery of library materials to persons in Warren County who, because of age, illness, or disability, are unable to leave their home. This service can be used in the short term or the long term depending on the situation.

To become enrolled in the program a "Request for Homebound Service" Form must be completed.  For your convenience, you can download this form by clicking here or call the library at 252.257.4990 and request to have the form mailed to you. Once completed and returned, a staff member will contact you to initiate the service and discuss the types of materials you would like to receive and set up a delivery schedule.

Service is available to anyone who cannot use regular printed materials because of a visual or physical handicap, to receive “specially” made  library loan books and magazines through the:

North Carolina Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped

This includes anyone whose visual impairment either permanent or temporary, cannot be corrected with eyeglasses.  Persons with a physical disability preventing them from turning pages or holding a book are also included. In addition, certain learning disabilities may qualify.  Nursing homes and other institutions serving people with these disabilities are also eligible.

Please be advised that all materials circulate for 14 days.  After the standard 14 day circulation period, late fees will incur
Loan Periods

All overdue items are charged at a rate of $.20 cents per day up to $25.00 or cost of item. Videos, CDs, DVDs, reference materials & Interlibrary Loans are charged at the rate of $1.00 per day up to $25.00

Free patron cards, valid for 1 year with unlimited renewals, are available to Warren County residents, persons owning property in Warren County, persons employed in Warren County, persons attending an educational institution in Warren County, and reciprocal borrowers from Vance, Granville, Franklin, Halifax and Northampton Counties in North Carolina, and residents of Virginia who live in Mecklenburg and Brunswick Counties bordering Warren County.

 

Proof of current address and photo ID and the last four (4) digits of the borrowers social security number is required to obtain a patron card.  A parent or guardian possessing a current and valid patron card may sign for a child's patron card. Patron cards must be shown to check out materials.  Replacement patron cards are $2.00 for the first replacement and $5.00 for subsequent replacements. Books, audio books, and magazines may be renewed twice if they are not reserved. Videos and DVDs are not renewal.
