The following behavior is unacceptable in Warren County Memorial Library and if observed or violations are reported, and you are involved you will be asked to leave the library and your library privilege will be revoked.
1. Loud conversation or laughter which is disturbing to other users.
2. Obscene or abusive language.
3. Smoking in the Library.
4. Use of radios, tape, CD, or MP3 players, if not using headphones to prevent the sound transmitted to others.
5. Cell phone conversations inside the building.
6. Cell phone rings or alerts that are not on silent or vibrate.
7. Willful destruction of or damage to any Library property.
8. Blocking, or in any way interfering with the free movement of any person or persons, or any other forms of harassment.
9. Bringing animals other than lead dogs into the building.
10. Consumption of food or beverages.
11. Use of illicit drugs.
12. Removal of any Library property from the building without authorization through established lending procedures.
13. Soliciting or selling any kind, if disruptive to the normal use of the Library.
14. Distribution of leaflets or posting of notices in areas not authorized for this purpose.
15. Use of library telephones by any person other than library personnel unless approved.
16. Entering designated staff-
17. Rearranging of any library furniture or equipment from one location to another.
18. Engaging in disorderly conduct, disturbing or offending Library users or staff members.
19. Failure of parents or guardians to supervise their children.
20. Carrying unauthorized weapons of any sort.
Library staff members are authorized by the Board to enforce the above policies using their discretion. Patrons violating any of the above expectations will be warned once by Library personnel, and if the problem persists, they may ask the patron in question to leave the building. Staff members are expected to respond to a problem patron as politely and calmly as possible, but also to call on law enforcement officials for assistance as necessary.
